Looking for effective acne scar treatment in Wootton or scar reduction in Bedfordshire? Consider our SkinPen microneedling treatment, a popular choice for anti-wrinkle treatment and facial rejuvenation in Wootton. This advanced procedure utilises a microneedling pen to stimulate collagen induction therapy, resulting in remarkable improvements in skin texture, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and more.

As we age, the natural architecture of our skin deteriorates. This deterioration leads to fine lines, wrinkles, large pores and uneven skin texture. Our SkinPen treatment in Bedfordshire comfortably creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin to trigger the body’s natural wound healing process. This process results in the formation and remodelling of collagen which supports the underlying tissue also getting incredible results reducing acne and acne scarring.

The procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area. Our Medical Aesthetician ensures your comfort by applying a topical anaesthetic before the microneedling pen is used. Post-treatment, you may experience mild redness, similar to a sunburn, which typically fades within a few hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Microneedling hurt?

A numbing cream is used on the skin prior to treatment therefore you should feel little to no pain. Afterwards, you can expect the skin to look red, similar to moderate sunburn. This can fade after a few hours, or for some it can take up to 24-28 hours to fade.

Which areas of the body can it treat?

Microneedling isn't exclusive to just the face area. The treatment can be done anywhere the skin on the body needs to be thickened, particularly those areas where you might have stretch marks, like the legs, chest, or buttocks with 4 to 6 sessions on average usually sufficient.

How often can it be done?

The frequency of the procedure will depend on the severity of the issue. If your skin is in good condition and you take care of it, you can have microneedle treatment every 3 to 6 months. For the treatment of scarring initially, it is likely you would require one session per month for 4 to 6 months.

What should I do after the treatment?

You need to avoid wearing make up for at least 12 hours after the procedure. It is not advisable to use retinol or any creams which are too active for a few days, however you will be given a growth factor serum to use before bed, and then again the next morning. The growth factor serum should be used every night until you run out. As well as a post procedure kit which contains a cleanser, recovery balm and sun protection SPF which you can use up to 7days to protect your skin day and night whilst its at first stage of healing.

Can I use this with other treatments?

Absolutely! Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment combinable with any number of cosmetic procedures, among them chemical peels and LED Light therapy.
